Eastern Science Wisdom and Western Science are Morphing – How to Harness Energy for Your Health
Much to the surprise of any science teacher I had at school who may read this, I have turned into a bit of an armchair quantum science geek studying the structure of energy, but I am also fascinated with intuition and spiritualism. So much of my work brings these principles into the same session but even to me one seemed like science and the other ‘woo-woo’. I had identity dissonance as I grappled with how to align the two but recently stumbled on a YouTube TEDx talk that mentioned the vector equilibrium or nicknamed the ‘Bucky Ball’ that represents the most energetically balanced system of energy we know of in Western science and its researchers won the 1996 Nobel prize for chemistry. It looks like a soccer ball in shape, and it is also the centre of the lotus flower being a symbol of the Eastern representation of consciousness, and the study of inner and outer connection. It is found everywhere in nature. Did I stumble on it? Or was it synchronicity and manifestation? lol
Einstein said everything is energy.
We are each made up of 50 trillion cells, each one made up of molecules, which include atoms, and atoms are 99.999% space. Atoms are high frequency vibrations of energy. Regardless of what we are doing we are oscillating on a frequency. Nikola Tesla said if we want to understand the universe we need to think in terms of energy and vibration. It’s in the smallest of things like cells in a petri dish, to a large organism such as a human, and then a massive organism such as the Earth…. Everything is energy and we can shift it up or down within us to create or manage health and wellness. We are always operating in a frequency which has enormous variability, but we can intentionally shift it within ourselves for positive effect.
Our thoughts and emotions are forms of energy. Energies are encoded into the rhythm of our heart. When we feel love and compassion our heart rhythm is transferred to the brain and affects how the brain functions and we get coherence. When we feel energy renewing emotions like compassion and love, our heart rhythm becomes balanced and transfers to the brain which mirrors the waves and has a profound role in affecting how the brain functions.
By tuning into this and intentionally setting our energetic state we grow the capability like a muscle after going to the gym repeatedly. Our prefrontal cortex gets stronger which is our executive functioning, and our amygdala, the less evolved part of our brain gets smaller – these effect how we perceive, react and respond. Coherence is extremely powerful for improving mental health especially for those most at risk.
When our brain waves are in sync with our heart rhythm it flows onto our organs being in sync and feeds each other the amplitude of the optimal energetic state where heart rhythms, brain waves, blood pressure, respiratory rate and even the electric potentials running through the skin are coherent. Out of coherence is like going to the symphony early and listening to the musicians warming up and there is no coherence – in fact it sounds and feels offensive until the conductor arrives and gets synchronicity with all parts working together. Our heart is the conductor, and the organs and systems are the musicians and instruments. In coherence it is a recipe for wellness and out of coherence it is a recipe for inflammation and stress.
Studies of interest:
Participants with psoriasis who used mind like a muscle healed 4 x faster
Participants trained in coherence healed from surgery 4 x faster, had 50% reduction in perceived pain resulting in taking fewer opioids, fewer post op complications, and a shorter hospital stay.
Of 5700 people, those with the highest self-regulation skills were predicted to have 50 x more likelihood to be alive in 15 years and be without chronic disease.
In a randomised control study, when a surgeon connected even just once to create a compassionate connection with a patient prior to surgery it resulted in 50% less opioid use post op, with significantly less time in hospital and fewer post op complications.
The last study referenced above links in Physics 101 which says electricity running through also creates a magnetic field. We each have a field of around 1 metre (3-4 feet) in diameter. We can pull others into coherence. It is not just about you. Your thoughts and intentions affect everyone around you.
I’m hoping that if you are still reading this that you can see it has relevance in your day-to-day life in everything you do and everyone you interact with.
Traditional medicine has its place, but our health system is overwhelmed and cannot cope with demand. Imagine if everyone learnt that coherence is possible and how it is all within us.
CEOs are catching on to the power of supporting themselves and their teams to self-regulate and thus inviting productive and coherent environments. By providing the tools to self-regulate and access their peak potential is a win for individuals, teams, businesses and their families and relationships. There are no losers here except perhaps those who choose to stay in a victim or blame mode of powerlessness and anger. Our biology and energies are designed to connect at a community level.
Be intentional, be compassionate, practice and build the coherence strength. Here’s how to get off to a great start:
- Focus your attention on your heart
- Gently inhale for a count of 5 while you imagine you are breathing into your heart
- Gently exhale for a count of 5 as you imagine the air leaving your heart space
- Focus on your heart and imagine someone you love, a pet or a place that brings an emotion of appreciation, compassion or love into your awareness
- Feel it with all your physical body and bring it into the area of your heart as the centre
- Imagine your heart sending this energy to every cell in your body.
